I can't help myself. I was scrolling through my May 2005 digital pictures, looking for this early may shot of our Harry Potter scarves:
and I found this picture:
Blame Matt's parents for starting the cat decoration theme years ago with reindeer antlers for their cat Patchouli. We found the wings for Virgil a few years ago. He's only worn them twice, because he hates them. But I got several good pictures - this new camera is just a little better than the old, which captured lots of blurred images.
Anyway, back to knitting. A few weeks ago J from my little tiny knitting group and I both we were working on the scarves above. Even though I've been knitting longer, J is a lot better at being motivated to work on a particular project, and she has sprung ahead in leaps and bounds. I'm so impressed at how much more quickly she knits now, how even her tension is, and how huge her scarf is! I think my scarf has grown maybe a stripe since the first picture, but she's on stripe 15 now!
(please ignore my living room...oh, and i didn't knit the afghan on our couch. it's a lovely feather and fan in acrylic made by my father-in-law's co-worker as a wedding present. it's sweet and i love it.)
Then, K, also in our knitting group pulled out not one, but two more harry potter scarves! One more made it into this picture:
My knitting goals are currently this:
Short-term:
1st priority - finish up some catnip mice for my sister-in-law's cats, upon request
2nd priority - wrist warmers for husband, birthday 6/23
3rd priority - harry potter scarf by book 6 debut
Long-term:
knit shawl by the end of this summer
reproduction of natalie's fuzzy sweater*
rosedale
To meet my Harry Potter scarf goal, I've decided I need to do 15 rows a night at least for the next month. I should be good if I stick to that. So, speaking of that, I have 10 more rows to do before I go to bed, so off I go.
