Oops, I almost missed my once-weekly knitting update. I started an entry the other day, and then got busy at work. Here's how far I got:

I signed up for the Sockapalooza. Since I won't really be able to participate in the Knitting Olympics, I decided I wanted to do something community-based. I'm also doing the Mystery Shawl Knitalong (note to self: yarn shopping soon!). I think I'll order from KnitPicks, as that would probably be the most cost-effective plan.

All this is still true. I am waffling about the yarn for the mystery shawl, though, since I have so much lace weight lying around. It's a question of yardage, though. Hopefully yardage estimates will go up soon, and I can decide from there. I'm also considering dyeing some yarn, which I may even do tonight. Yarn dyeing fills the husband with impotent rage. He's so Type A about what goes where that yarn, in bowls, in the kitchen drives him crazy. And then yarn, drying on the drying rack, in the kitchen, for DAYS AT A TIME makes him even crazier. He complains because it annoys him, and I counter with things like, "It's my kitchen, too," and "It's not hurting anything," and "I'll be done soon." Ah, true love.
